Default Locking the bike in the back of the truck

What kind (type, brand) of locks are you using to secure you bikes in pickup truck beds? I'm leaning toward the Kryptonite NY Noose or Fahgettaboudit, locked to a cast steel eyelet bolted through the truck bed.

I know that it'll only keep some of the theives at bay, and that if somone REALLY wants your stuff, they're gonna get it.

I just want some more peace of mind, and to make it more difficult for the unsavory to rip off my ride.

And, yes, I have full coverage insurance

I'll be staying at -wait- If I say where I'm staying, I'm inviting theft!

Seriously, though, I'm staying @ the Holiday Inn Express in Danville on the 29th.

I just want to make reasonably sure that the bike will still be in the back of my truck on Sunday morning when I'm done with my continental breakfast

An enclosed trailer is WAY down on the wish list this year.

They're not bad, but I think the stuff made by Abus is even better.

i've only stayed at the ho inn ex once, had a 2nd fl room facing the dan river (rear of the hotel) with my svs with only tie-downs in my pickup truck bed and a xena disc lock.

i sleep like the dead so i would not have heard the xena screaming if it did go off but...

... no problems at all (ymmv).

Bst bet is to drop off at the track the night before. If this not an option, does the tailgate close? If so, make sure the lock to the tailgate works...if not, any type of chain/lock to the bed of the truck would be fine...and also, when parking, back it into a spot. A lot harder to lift a bike out of a bed of a truck than if it were on the ground. I think you'll be ok though.

Back the truck against a pole, wall, tree , or back to back to another truck or trailer, anything to make it difficult to get the bike off, the less space the better.

just leave the bike at the track, less hassle then loading it back up just to unload it the next day.

That would work. This is the first back-to-back weekend I've done. Is leaving the paddock area set up between days something that is commonly done?

Would someone who's camping keep an eye on things?

Its done all the time. Get there the night before, claim a spot, don't break down shop till you leave...Bikes will be fine, if you have an ez-up(which is something everyone should have) just put the bike under it, lower it all the way down and strap some tie downs from the tent to the bike so it doesn't blow away overnight. Just take the key out too if you want
