2002 Honda CBR F4i
My friend just bought last night from a dealer a used 02 F4i with 4000 miles on it so im curious if anyone knows of any known issues with these bikes etc, running synthetic? any all around info.

He should have bought a kawi, you oughtta know that!
Id try hitting up some honda sites and see what reoccuring questions/problems come up from users....
I dont know anything offhand, but thats because I have a kawi

I love my F4i, and all bikes need to be maintained just like your car. Maybe one person has had a bad experience with a certain brand, and someone else never had any problems...it depends on the owner and who previously owned it. www.cbrforum.com has a section for F4is, but it's more a general chat for troubleshooting and such. It may lead to answering his questions, if he has any.

Only problem I've heard about those after 10K miles is the CCT (Cam Chain Tensioner) goes to shit and you start hearing a small clinking sound in the motor...but it's a simple fix.

ya thats common on kawi's also, you can hear mine on 636 rattle a little. Im gonna take some pics of it this week then get the pics up.

Actually the CCT can go before 10K miles. But i'm in love with my f4i. I got the newest and latest version of the CCT that i put in the middle of last year and its still going fine after about 3000 miles on it. Just be prepared to have a pain in the arse time if you change it yourself. its a bitch and a half.
Other than that get your friend onto SBA. Plenty of honda riders brains to pick on here.
