The little rubber tips on the float valves just get old whether you ride it or not. Once the rubber begins to harden they just don't seal any more.

Remove and clean all 4 carbs, that takes awhile.

Gino - float valves are about $50 EACH if you buy the OEM parts - so that coiuld be a big part of the cost. Mostly labor I would guess though.
