after market turn signals
I just bought a pair of "euro" style front blinkers for my gsxr.
When I wire these bad boys in, will my relay, or the flasher itself see the LED as a lower load and flash like a maniac?
I think the bike is setup to draw (X) amount of watts, and if it drops below that the bike thinks a turn signal is out and it will blink uber quick when signaling..
Since the LED is a lower draw will this turn out to be the sitatution? And if I do need to buy a resistor or a new flasher, what do I buy?

They will blink faster than stock due to the decreased load. Many companys offer a resistor that evens out the draw.
Q: Will my blinkers blink faster if I install a Custom LED Integrated Tail or the Universal LED Flushmounts and remove my stock blinkers?
A: Yes
Q: Why do my blinkers blink fast when I remove my stock blinkers?
A: The stock flasher relays on our motorcycles - which are the devices that make blinkers "blink" - are designed to blink twice as fast as normal when a bulb is burned out. This is to let the operator know that there is a blinker bulb burned out. Unfortunately, most after market blinker products (including Custom LED products) consume so little power compared to the stock bulbs, that the flasher relay thinks that a bulb is out when this is not the case.
Q: How do I slow down the blinkers on my bike?
A: If you are NOT using a Custom LED Integrated Tail you have two options:
o
simply replace the flasher relay with one that is not designed with a "bulb out notification." The Custom LED Electronic LED Flasher Relay is perfect for this.
o
or you could install the Custom LED Load Equalizer Stage II.

Thanks Jim, but I think these were answers to questions I already had answered myself.. Do I just look for a flasher, or a resistor for a lower draw?
I've been looking around and all I find for the gsxr are a hardwire option or involve cutting the wiring.. I dont really want to do that..

I went with the Greg's Custom flush mounts. they also reccomend A Load resistor. Using them involves access to the wiring and most kits sold do include them with the blinkers.

Also custom dynamics has aftermarket relays as well.

They're done.
How the hell do I fix the fast blink rate? Someone direct me to a flasher or resistor..
Install was pretty easy. Will do a write up later

See above...
Either replace the blinker relay, get a custom control relay or use a resistor. If you went with a resistor it would connect between the yellow and black wires in the picture you posted.

Yeah, It just kind of scares me having a resistor just wired in like that. What if it gets wet or too hot and shorts out?

I have used them in the past. Make sure everyting is shrink wrapped and you will be fine. Usually in the fairings not much moisture makes it in there. The other alternative is to do the relay which is usually under the seat.
20 bucks can fix that as well.

I need some help. the custom led flasher requires splicing of the stock flasher unit wires.. i pulled everything off of my bike and I have a good idea on what two tires to cut and splice into.. but i dont know.
has anyone done this before on a gsxr?

You can do the splice near the sidemarker light you used, too bad they face the side where the wrong people will see them. Oh well.

I kinda like how mine blink fast because IMO it seems as if it would help catch a persons attention alot faster then a blinker that blinks slower.

At night that might be the case for obvious reasons, but not during daylight hours. The light waves can't compete with the sun and don't leave enough time for the human eye to register them due to the short amount of time they're lit each time they blink, hence the reason for a signal's slower pace. FYI, it's the cagers with poor eyesight that you have to worry about more than looking cool.
