When PA dropped the helmet law two years ago I rode around New Hope with just my sunglasses and I must admit it was a whole new experience. Can hear so many subtle things that the helmet blocks out, and my peripheral vision was greatly enhanced, kinda brings the entire experience closer to you regarding all the senses that your body has, but of course we all know it's not a wise decision. If these momos choose to ride all the time without one then it's their loss, the state isn't forcing them to ride without them.

Even if NJ had a "no helmet law" i'd still wear a helmet.

Busting my ass on the concrete is fine, losing flesh is fine, breaking an arm is fine. falling and hitting my head is NOT COO.

They can fix damn near everything else except for your brain and spinal cord.

All riders know there's a risk, some of us just aren't afraid to go. We'll all have to go at one point. I don't hold it against anyone who wants to ride without a helmet. It's their choice, and they're not messing up anyone else's safety too much by not wearing one.

*being politically incorrect for a sec*
Some people would rather just die from an accident than be crippled from one. It shouldn't be a state's job to make that decision for them.

With that said, you won't see me without a lid. I like my bald head just the way it is!

P.S. I didn't even read the article. :p

Yeah and with all of the crap that had bounced off of my helmet I can't imagine how it would feel taking it in the face. I was in CT once and there were 2 guys doi8ng like 90 with nothing but sunglasses on.

In my accidents, without a helmet I would probably be dead. I don't even consider an open face helmet.

kinda silly imo, i mean, i have a pretty big crack from a rock hitting my car winshield. I can only imagine that rock hit my face, i'd prob get knocked out (well prob not) or at least a good gash.

It shouldn't be the state's job to tell me I can't turn on red where posted, speed w/o getting pulled over, drive a car that spues emissions and still pass inspection then...all this stuff should be our choice then, right? Laws need to be in place, no way around it. Amazing how its mandatory to wear your seat belt in every state because of saftey, but not a helmet on a bike...
