Can't say thanks you enough to a lot of people for making yesterday happen for me!!! First of all Jake your the man
This dude offers up his rim off his own track bike because mine still wasn't back from getting fixed. Did I mention he got up and delivered the part to another riders house at 5am
Onedwn5up was the delivery man. Jake dropped it off at his house and he brought it to the track, and back, for me.
Well I got the rim put on and had a Corsa Pro mounted on the rear and was ready to ride the new bike first session. I was real excited to finally be riding an inline 600 at the track. Unfortunately my hopes were dashed when I got on the brakes for the first time and had a lot of pogo chatter in what felt like the front suspension. I took it easy around the track surprised at how nice it would turn in and out but braking was a disaster. Off the track at pit in and back to the paddock.
I had no idea what was wrong so I gave Ron at WCW a call. It took us a while to double check the suspension set up that they had done for me and it just didn't make sense. Everything suspension wise seemed fine. Then they had me hold my hand under the tripple while I rolled it forward and got on the front brake. What do ya know a loose front end Big thanks to Papa John and Ron at WCW for figuring out the problem! Now to fix it....
I had never take apart a tripple so over to CBR Bob I go. With his helping hand we pull the bike apart and get it snugged down carefull to not over tighten it. It seemed to get the play out so we put it all back together. Next lap out same thing but not nearly as bad. I was frustrated and wanted to ride so once again CBR Bob to the rescue. He helps me unload the SV and techs me in record time and I'm back on the track for most of that session. Back in to the paddock and tear the CBR all apart again. Tighten it some more with more help from Bob and Onedwn5up (Eric) and I was in business by the next blue session.
All I can say is WOW what a bike!!! It was the last session before the lunch break and my first on that bike. Everything just clicked with me and that bike. Came back with a huge grin and was very surprised to see 1:15s on the lap timer. Next session after lunch 1:14s. One after that chasing Doc Dave around, you guessed it I got into the 1:13s. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about the new CBR600RRs mine is an 07 and all I can say is DAMN!!!
Thanks again everyone and I can't wait for Wed the 16th in Jersey
Ken great to ride with you and your buddies out there again!
