Roller Hockey...
I want to try it, and this is for the people who are like me, REFUSE to put on a pair of ICE SKATES
Thinking try to get 10 or more people for a good decent game(?) Let me know if you are seriously in depending on a date/place. More then likely a Saturday and Sunday within the next month or so.

IN. I know a bunch of places with outdoor rinks, here is a list of a few.
Middletown - Leonardo section, off rt 36
Middletown - Normandy Park, Nut Swamp Rd. Near High School South
Middletown - Keansburg border, off rt 36
Colts Neck - Doorbrook Park
Brick - Lake Riveriera Middle School (2 rinks)
Freehold - 2 rinks, I forget the name of the park, near rt 9
Marlboro I believe has rinks near the High School
Manalapan - 2 in their township park
These are all free outdoor rinks maintained by the Townships or County they are in... They generally free to use for the public, *IF* there are no leagues going on. Some of them might be by permit only (Freehold), but I have never had a problem.
These are generally roller hockey specific rinks, with about 4ft boards all around, some of them keep the nets in at all times, most have fences above the boards, although Brick does not, and Freehold has Plexiglass.
I might be able to get a few guys I play on a league with to come out as well.

Yeah i'm ready to play some hockey. It gets boring just skating around shooting the ball at a fence. All the while wishing for some friends.

If its nice out tomorrow I think I am going to do a few drivebys at the rinks near me and just skate for a little bit... If anybody is there ill get the scoop on where and when they do pick up games...
All three of the rinks in Middletown have lights on til about 10 (timers) too which is nice. I know Doorbrook (colts neck) and Lake Riviera (Brick) dont have lights. I dont remember if freehold does, although I am pretty sure they do, no idea what time they turn off though, and I know nothing about the other rinks since I havent been to them.
I do play in a Wednesday over 30 league, and we actually need a player or two. Team fee is 1450 for 10-12 games, split among 9-11 players (i think the goalie plays free for us because we are "borrowing" him).

hey stiffy.. next time i go out to play ill give you a call... I actually stopped by 2 rinks in middletown and lights were on past 10. I think they are on til 10:30. Nobody was at the one rink (Leonardo), which was kind of odd because saturday night it was perfect weather. The second rink (Normandy) had 2 guys out there shooting the puck around.
