Anyone get any good deals? Black Friday or Cyber Monday?
I spent some time scouring the news papers on Thursday and didn't find that many great deals. Some of them were pretty good, but nothing worth getting out of bed early for. I've been looking around for "Cyber Monday" deals and they actually all suck. Buy.com is doing that thing where it's like "Buy now, $129.99, regular $169.99" when it always sells for $129.99 in the stores. So anyone that is a sucker thinks they're saving money. So anyone see any killer deals?

I got this TV for $980 with free shipping :D
http://www2.panasonic.com/consumer-e...00000000005702 http://images.panasonic.com/static/L...LCZ70B_500.jpg Went out and bought an upconverting Sony DVD player yesterday. Next up I think will be a PS3 so I can watch some true 1080p stuff with the Blu-Ray player. I'm totally fed up with my broken Xbox 360 and after reading that they basically have 33% failure rate compared to Sony's 1% I think it's time to say so long to the M$ piece of shit. |
I missed cybering on Monday?

I got an internal 320GB for $60. Not an extraordinary deal, but seemed good.
Also got a Canon Rebel XT + 75-300mm lens + accessory kit (bag + battery + UV Fillter) for 699. Both at bestbuy on black Friday, I missed out on the $400 Sony laptop. I got an external WD 500GB HD for 99, but that was just out of convenience. |

I was looking for the garmin zumo but didnt see any killer deals. I was also looking to get either a 4 or an 8 gig mp3 player. Saw a few deals but when I researched them on cnet they didnt get great reviews, like 5 and 6 out of a possible 10.

A co-worker of mine told me this too. So I read into it a bit and it said the 3-year replacement would only cover the 3-ring of death, not other errors. Mine wasn't giving that error yet. So I figured since it didn't work anyway I'd just turn it on and leave it on for however long it take until the whole thing fries and gives the red rings :) Fortunately, I went home, turned it on and it immediately went all red :nod2: Called them (M$) up and they said ok, and are sending me a package to ship it back to them to fix free of charge. :ride: |
I had the unfortunate experience of black friday shopping. My dad saw a deal on a sony 40" lcd 1080p tv at sears for $600 off. Man i will never do that crap again. Was up at 3:30am to get to the store by 5am when they opened. They sold the 6 that were in stock within 5 mins, but honored the price for any other customers. We were just hoping to get it and bring it to PA with us.
But he's been shopping for that tv for over a year and finally got the price he wanted. F black friday. Bunch of crazy mofo's!! |
yeah i was looking for a deal on my 40" samsung but no good deals on it so didnt even bother getting out of bed even though i was in sunny florida over the weekend!! :)

It's kind of pointless really. Alot of the electronics places that are running sales, you can just as easily get them from their websites and save yourself the headache. Not only that, but it's likely if you are going to get something that is advertised at a really good price, they'll be sold out by the time you get there.
That TV up there that I got was from 6th ave electronics, I drove by the place and there was a line out the door, I was like screw this, I'll just go home and buy it online, and they shipped it free anyway. |
