i dont know if you posted this already but how was it stolen?? did you leave it unlocked somewhere shady over night? im just curious b/c ive been thinking about getting one of those alarms that beeps you when someone goes near your bike. ever since i joined this site ive heard a bunch of stories about bikes being stolen and its making me paranoid. one kid on here had his bike stolen twice, i think.

Yep! my heart cries every time I see a silver 600RR on the road!

I figure I'll try to get a house with a garage before I get another bike. Another alternative if I find a good deal before then is to park it my friend's house.

I guess I forgot to reply to this:
The bike wasn't unlocked. I didn't have the alarm system installed yet because I was getting married and figured I'd wait until I clear that expense.

The day after I got married, between 11pm and 1am when my friends were leaving my spot, the bike was gone. I wasn't further than 20 yards away! The wheel was locked, but we all should know that means nothing to a thieves with a van.

The funny thing is the fact that the police officer's reply to my friend in regards to chances we'd get the bike back. I had to correct the police officer that there was next to no chance that I'd get the bike back. He said that it would most likely be recovered! tsk tsk!!!

well at least the police officer gave you some hope and tried to be positive.... when mine got stolen, he basically said "your fucked" which i already knew but hey you can dream cant you...
