Surgery went well. I got one plate and ten screws. I worked this morning but I'm paying for it now. I'm sore as hell.
Hey Ralph, how long did it take you heal with no surgery?

Hey Ralph, how long did it take you heal with no surgery?

I wouldve been able to work after 5 weeks. The doctor wouldnt clear me until 9 weeks. By then I was 100% recovered.

I was told by the ortho that it takes longer for the bone to heal after surgery. All the surounding tissue that is cut supplies the bone with blood to help it heal. No blood supply and the bone wont heal.

Your better off taking it easy so the tissue heals. Then the bone will heal better.

Dont do what Jeremy did. He worked, and raced and crashed on his broken collarbone and it took over a year to heal.

Yeah, I was talking to him about that at VIR. I'm going to rest it for a solid 4 weeks then start to build it back up.
It hurts 10 times worse after surgery than the break itself.
