speaking of Oil changes and stuff, how many miles can a typical 4 stroke motorcycle engine last, if taken care of? 30K, 50K, more?

unfortunately fwe bikes live to see how long their engines will actually last since most engines seem to outlive the bikes (frames) they are in. I would think a properly maintained engine (not just oil changes) would have no problem going 100k+ miles under normal use (no stunting, racing, etc)... At least for the Water cooled I4 4 stroke... Probably even much longer...

But not many of usaverage 10k miles a year, and that would take 10 years to get to 100k... Don't think too many of us here would keep a sportbike that long... I'm sure if you visited the goldwing forums, you'd find plenty of bikes over 100k miles...
