Default Stupid upper stay is cracked

(*#&%)(#*(*&%(*&$%

So my beloved Suzuki has been making goofy noises for ....at least 8 months now. And I've been trying to find the source of these goofy squeaky "loose" noises coming form my front end.

Sure enough, I take one stupid glance at it from the perfect angle today, and find that my front upper stay bracket thingydoohicker is cracked right under where the two bottom supports meet the main part of it (the bracket attaching to the frame). Here's a file photo but where my crack is is highlighted in red. It goes from edge to edge.

My question is, should I buy a new one or have someone weld that bad little b**** back together? I know squat about welding and structural integrity. All I know is is can't be that bad, because I've done over 8k miles with it like that. Anyway opinions, sarcasm, nastiness, friendliness, comments and suggestions are welcome. BTW I found one on eBay for like 100 bucks so I'll probably just end up buying that and slapping into place.

Can you take a better picture of the crack?

Take it to a muffler shop, they should weld it for $10.

I'll take the one off the 02 Gix! It's for a 2000 GSXR 750. I believe the 00-03 750s are mechanically identical to the 01-03 600s. What do you want for it?
