Default Phoenix Systems Brake Bleeders

Was having a bit of an issue with the rear brake, it had way to much travel. Come to realize that dumb ass me had forgot about the bleeder on the back side of the caliper
At wcw shootin the shit with Mark Perez, he said he uses a manual bleeder by Phoenix and highly recommends them, the V-12 to be specific. Anyone else ever have any experience with these?

I haven't used these particular tools, but pressure bleeders
have been the easiest, most effective method for a long time.
At that price, I may have to buy one...

Shit, for $35.00 you can get a mityvac that does the same exact thing, and it works well.

This is the opposite of a mityvac. It pushes the fluid into the system through the bleeder in the caliper.

I would need a compressor then.

Thats another reason why I thought this one was pretty cool.

No you wouldn't for a Mityvac

But having one wouldn't be a bad thing

That V-12 bleeder is great for doing large vehicles like cars where you can't reach both ends of the brake system at the same time.

You said you found why you couldn't get all the air out, you don't need the V-12. A $35 Mityvac is more than enough for a bike.

MityVac also makes a pressure bleeder (#07220) that he may be referring to.

Yea, it wasn't until Ron said, "You did both sides of the caliper right?" I was like, "Ummm faaack." Then he hooked it up to his vacuum thing and was done in like 3 min. Thats when Perez told me about that V-12.

Hows the quality of the Mityvac? Kinda looks like I'd be afraid to drop it, lol.

The cheap mityvac's are made of plastic. They do break but so what. They only cost $35. I've had the same one for over 6 years. The vacuum guage broke but I dont need it. Still functions perfectly.

They do make metal versions that cost more.

Honestly, I've tried MightyVac on my brakes and it just doesn't make it any easier for me, really just wastes more fluid IMO.

I bled both by front and rear brakes when I installed new lines by hand and by myself in pretty short order, both nice and firm at the lever.

I agree. I only use the mityvac when I'm flushing the fluid. If I'm just doing a quick bleed I don't bother with it.
