I would consider it depending on how many participants the raffle is limited to. if my changes are less than 1/1000, I would think $100 to be too much. $50 would fit that scenario better for me.

Think we can actually have a good idea here. Definitely like the fact that taxes will be taken care of, especially if the winner turns it into a track bike, or better yet make a $6-7K profit...thats a no brainer. Sucks I can't enter

looks like I got the GM into it, he just wants me to look into the legality of the whole thing and see if we need any gambling permit to do it.

Well since I am getting a check from the city for a boatload of money I would be in. Only question is in NY you pay the sales tax when you register the bike, now woul dwe be covered for that or are on our own for that, if its used for a track only bike then it never gets registered anyway.

You could also crosspost this on other sites, I am sure people I know on cycleforums would be intrested and am sure th emods could/would make stickies out of it if I asked them.

I liked how this was tried over on TSSB and it turned into a total flame war

Everyone seems to be really concerned with the number of tickets sold (probability to win.) The Bootie Scratcher explained that you can enter as many times as you want...so to cut down the probability...ENTER MORE THEN ONCE!!!!

BTW, I would be in for 3 tickets if we do it!

total tickets sold makes a big difference on probability, and at $100 per ticket, i personally wouldn't want to have 1 in 1000 chance.. i'd have better returns playing blackjack in AC.
