MY 929
quick question....is my 929 worth putting money into(p.c., mapping, suspension, etc.) and eventually use it on the track? or just use it for the street and save my money for a newer track bike?

New parts are always nice, but I prefer to
spend my money on trackdays...

I put a pcIII into my 929 with a two bro's bolt on with a standard map for that pair and took it out (the pcIII) 2 weeks later, I noticed very little difference. Cost vs benefit didn't add up in my mind. It had plenty of HP for me and dropping a bunch of money to get a little more wasn't worth it. I can't speak about using it as a track bike since I only rode street, but it was a great bike and I don't see the need to add unnecessary 'upgrades' to it just so you can list then in your signature. Tune the suspension on it for you (it was to stiff for me) and just enjoy it.

Um..don't waste your money. Save it for a SV track bike. They are afordable and from what everyone says it's one of the best / affordable track bikes to have.

If you want to track it just get some DOT tires, maybe upgrade the brakes if they've not been already and race glass and take it to the track. A 929 should have enough grunt to get the job done that your dont need more power add-ons.

As having ridden tens of thousands of miles on the 929 on the track, it needs...........fork springs! Valving is nice too. The bike is 100% undersprung even for a 150lb person. It has plenty of power, the reasr shock is pretty good but the forks are the weak area.
