How'd you get the SV to Applebees that one night and manage to avoid all that?

Well yea...I gave it up last season for all the reasons stated above. Getting to the point where I couldn't go 10 min w/o having come idiot 18 yr old on a cell drift into my lane...or someone blow thru a stop sign...this area(close to the city) sucks for street riding.

LOL!.. I shouldn't laugh I crash often.
Street, Road Course, Dirt... you roll the dice anywhere you ride, however on the track and in the woods you rule out public enemy #1 - other cars that don't see you. Street riding around this area sucks moose cock.

LOL...I didn't quite make the diagonal cut like I had hoped, I actually caught the edge of the track where it widened...missed by just a tad resulting in bending a rim at triple digits...oops.

Sold my 1K, got a cruiser, kept the track bike, and put on under 2K miles since i got the bike a little over a year ago. so for the most part, im only doing track days and no street riding. its not fun anymore

I gave up riding on the street with a sportbike, but I still ride a cruiser on the street. I get my speed jollies at the track and don't miss riding the sportbike in traffic. Not to mention my wallet is a little more heavy with only having to insure a cruiser on the roads. Its big, slow, comfortable and a great bike to bring my girlfriend on.
My RC51 was pretty expensive to insure. That alone pushed me to the track with the sportbikes.

street = slow , track = fast

street = unpredictable , track = predictable

street = crowded , track = sparse

street = uncontrollable , track = controlled

street = cars, trucks, bus, semis, drunks, junkies, dogs, deer,
old people, young people, cell phones, grande from starbucks,
telephone poles, traffic lights, stop signs, roadwork, dead
skunks, police and on, and on

track = corner workers, control riders, ambulance, emt's, great group
of people having a fantastic time

gimme the track, any day of the week.

I have not done any tracks days yet but only because it's my first season riding and I am just now starting to feel like I am ready to give the track a try.
Next season I will definitely give it a try... But like IrocRob said I wouldn't give up the social aspect of riding with my friends on the streets.

Jim on the other hand is quickly becoming a track junkie

Don't get to comfortable on the track....it's always unpredictable (rider wise) and not always sparse. And last but not least....you gotta go slow to go fast

But I get your point
