my college buddies and i had a little gathering in a small town called gatlinburg, TN. we rented a 10 person cabin up in the mountains. it was awesome.. and seeing that we'd be so close to the gap, i rented a uhaul bike trailer, installed a hitch, and took my bike too. here are a few pics from my trip. seemed like everyone on this trip was engaged or soon to be engaged. my r1 kept me company. they did nature walks, i did runs on some of the best roads i've ever been on. oh yea....
view from my cabin in gatlinburg, TN....about 30-40 minutes from the GAP.
'look rook' or something like that on the foothills parkway. my new desktop wallpaper. ::SIGH:: i can't wait to get back there.
my buddy couldn't resist and had to rent this harley so he could ride too. he (DSH) crashed his cbr not too long ago. he briefly thought about a cruiser but decided against it when he saw me zippin through the twisties while he was scrapin metal barely leaned over. also, he noticed that the frequency of waves from cruiser riders increased DRAMATICALLY (some even going out of their way to wave and make it noticeable)...but the waves from sportbike riders declined exponentially. lol.
what a cutie.
of course, had to get a pic by the famous sign...
riding deal's gap. i picked up a passenger along the way. my buddy brought her along for this trip..but she preferred riding the r1 over the cruiser! she said the r1 was sooo much more comfortable. lol...hard to believe, that seat is so hard! haha. these pics were taken by photographers on deal's gap. i've already ordered pics. what an awesome service!
my buddy on the rented harley. scrape city.
all in all, it was an amazing trip! i can't wait to go back next year and do it for a whole week! this time, i was there for only 2.5 days and since it was mostly a gathering with my college buddies (most of whom DON'T ride), i didn't get as much riding time as i would've like. well, there's always next time! the GAP is awesome. well worth the trip.
