Riding a supermotard the correct way is totally different than riding a sportbike. Since I do both, I've had to change my style on the SM in order to go faster. When I 1st started riding the sm, I was more or less doing it the roadrace way (knee out). After a season or two of getting schooled by the mx style riders, I had to change.

And yes, it feel very weird.
Sportbikes feel WEIRD!

not that I know what I'm talkin about but the road race body position works for wider sweeping turns. Foot out and opposite lean is moto-style to get around tight turns faster and works better when you have high bars like a SM or MX bike.

This guy is showboating, not looking for the next turn.

These guys are racing, making time.

So why cant we use these supermotard tires on our streetbikes and never worry about lowsliding ever again? Apparently they grip well beyond a 45% lean

Most SM tires are just pre-grooved slicks, however, must just run pure racing slicks....and yes, they work in the dirt.

Another reason the SM's can get to crazy lean angles is the light weight of the bike (my 450 is about 220lbs).

I'm not saying he crashed. I am just saying that leaning out while pushing down is counter-intuitive traction wise. This must just be a way to get the bike to turn quickly, not taking the time to move your body weight into the turn and just getting the bike to lean.
