Just thought I'd throw a few pics up on here too

Nothing fancy or special, but she's my pride and joy.... these first ones were taken a couple months ago

And from my intro... ME

Then these were from last thursday... she rolled over 100k. I made a video too

All of them are mine Bought it brand new 10-17-04 and had 3 miles. It was a showroom display for a little over a year. In fact I have a few pics from the night I brought her home.... she's not even 30 minutes old here!

Still going strong on the original engine, original trans, original clutch, ect. Only things I've had to replace were a noisy CCT, a broken clutch cable at 65k, fix a tiny tiny coolant leak, replace a few warped front rotors, and replaced the original battery at 80k. That's it! Still runs like brand new

Well I can't really take credit for these pics (first ones at least). A buddy of mine, who is a freelance photographer, took those. He has the beastly digital SLR and all the goodies to go along with it, AND actually knows how to use it, hahah. So he came out with me and took some pics (he rides too... had a CBR 600 F3 but it blew up a few months ago. Now he has a Suzuki Bandit to get around on until he can get a newer bike... it's his only transport, no car). These pics are waaaaaay scaled down... the originals are about 40MB each pic, and HUGE!! I could make posters! haha. I wrote a letter to American Honda explaining how happy I was with the bike and sent in a few of these pics. They wrote me a letter back, and sent a t-shirt, hat, and a mug too.

It feels good to see someone that takes excellent care of their machine and doesn't sell it for the next best thing after 10,000 miles roll over on the Odo.

Seems like the headlight lenses are cloudy, along with the windscreen. Pick up a bottle of auto POLISH, not WAX, it'll buff all that out very easily.

Thats it? Figured they'd do a little article or something. Wheres the "I rode a 100,000 miles on a Honda and all I got was this stinkin shirt" shirt when you need one.

They look cloudy in the pics, but they're actually not. It's just cuz the lights are on they look that way. I have some bright ass HID's and the camera does some weird things when taking pics of them, so it's just the way the pics turned out. The windscreen does have some crap on it though, and I haven't been able to get it off with anything I've tried. I got that windscreen from a buddy of mine who's wife used to have an identical F4i (now has a 600RR). He had put a double bubble on hers and had the stock one sitting in his garage for months. I was at his house one day, and since my screen had some stress cracks in it, he gave me this screen. It was in perfect shape other than the white stains. I thought I'd be able to get them out with some denatured alcohol or polishing compound or something, but nothing has been able to remove them. I'm not worried about it though cuz I'm getting a double bubble soon anyways

As for taking care of it... well I do my best! I'm not one of the people that always has to have the latest and greatest stuff... as long as it does what it's supposed to do and stays reliable then I'm happy. I guess growing up dirt poor you kinda learn to take care of your stuff... it has to last cuz you simply can't afford to buy new stuff. Same reason I'm still driving my 18 year old car with 380k miles... there's nothing wrong with it and it still runs perfect and reliable as anything. I hate to come across as a cheap ass, but I just hate wasting stuff that's still good. I just like getting my moneys worth out of my stuff, that's all

Nice dude, I have a 1990 Nissan Maxima with the original clutch still grabbing strong at 280,000 miles. So far I've had to do some small stuff, replace exhaust(cat), a couple starters....and wiper blade motor.

Ehhh... well I wasn't really expecting much of anything, so I was just happy to see they responded. It's all good. I'll write them again at 200k and see what I get then, hahah

I wonder how far I have to go before I get a new bike for free

Nice! No fuel injectors yet? Impressive! Maximas are great cars though... my sister had a '91.... black with tan int. Really nice car! Hers was auto though. Ran like a dream, and the a/c would damn near freeze you solid, but the tranny finally died at 276k. I wish we would have lived closer I would have bought that car from her and replaced the tranny myself. The motor was perfect, and since she bought it from a guy that owned a body shop, the body was damn near showroom... no rust anywhere (this is in Illinois). She junked it though and bought a Camry. It was a sweet car though... pretty quick too! Too bad the Bose amps always blow out... all 4 of hers were blown out, I had to bypass the amp at each speaker.

As for clutches, the original clutch in my Accord finally died at 321k. It wasn't slipping or anything, but one of the four damper springs in the clutch disc actually broke and fell out and jammed the clutch. I took off from a stoplight and went to shift into 2nd and she didn't want to go. Sure can't complain there!

Nope the fuel injectors are clean I make sure of it every so often....the motor is real strong and still pulls hard no dead spots its great. But the main bearing on the tranny is going so I'm not sure how much longer I'm going to get out of it I'm hoping for 300,000 then I (and my pops) can say we got our moneys worth out of it.
