Nice TLR. Welcome to the v-twin club. Who used to own that TLR at the Planet?

Another victim... Er... TL owner.
The '01 had my favorite B/W color scheme.

They're not there to look pretty, they're there to save the frame dude. Besides, it looks fine.

No they're not...a true "frame slider" is only about 1.5" if that. All the ones out there can/will help with saving plastics, but thats not their main job.

With a slider you need to think of the bike it's going on.
On a TL if you bugger it enough to mark the frame (without them) theirs a good chance a slider wouldn't have done anything to help if it was there. The gas tank and radiator on a TL (both S and R) stick out so far over the frame its like a 400lb fat man with a 32" waist.
With the TL you need to offer that radiator some sort of protection. That is why the slider is essential to have on it. Try finding a new radiator... or good used one for that matter.
Saving plastic is the last thing a slider should be there for.
