Guild Wars. Risk free. Just buy the game -- free online play. Pretty much the same shit as WoW.

I've never been able to get into games like that. I bought WCIII when it came out, played for like a week and that was it. Empire Earth and Stronghold are pretty cool though. I've been playing counter-strike off and on for about 7 years now though, I love that game.

Sounds like you've answered your own question -- why bother trying it?

Oh, and Mike -- you can even undress the female characters in Guild Wars. You'd love this feature.

Warcraft 3 is a Real Time Strategy game... World of Warcraft is a MMORPG (massive multiplayer online role playing game)... Totally different games, they just happen to be based on the same storyline.

The game is very addictive, but its also a lot of fun... When you think about what games did 20 years ago, and then you look at a game like this.... It will be really scary to see what games in 20 years will be doing. Console games havent changed all that much.. Graphics are a zillion times better and you can do multiplayer over the net, but most of them are ultimately the same game you were playing years ago... This MMORPG thing is very scary.

I can hook you up with the game if you want (10day free trial), I don't think you actually have to buy the game if you have other means of obtaining it. They make their money with the ~$15 monthly fee...

I really would like to get in to something like that... but 15 bucks a month is pretty crazy.

$15 is a bargain when you compare it to other things you do for entertainment.

$9+ for a 2 hour movie? and since you rarely go alone, thats really about $20.

$15 a month gets you "unlimited" playing time...

I can't get into those long games. I've had PS2 for years now and the only games I have is all of the Tony Hawk games.
