Default Anthony West to ride an Aprilia in the Kiefer Racing Team

Not that anyone cares here..but anyway.. this is good news for ANT West!

News, 10/01/06

Anthony West has become the new rider for the Keifer Racing Team, with which he will participate in the 250cc class in 2006. The Australian rider thus severs ties with KTM, the team with which he participated last year in various Grands Prix in the quarter litre category. West, who had one year left on his contract with the Austrian factory as a test rider, has an excellent opportunity to be able to compete in the Word Championship.

Despite his isolated appearances in 2005, West turned himself into one of the World Championship contenders after yielding an extraordinary second place at Donington Park, an occasion in which the Australian made his debut with the prototype for the KTM.

One of the biggest novelties for the team in 2006 is that of the saddle, now that Kiefer Racing will contest the next 250cc World Championship with Aprilia. Last year they were allied with Honda. West´s teammate in the German team will be Dirk Heidholf, who will face his second campaign in fellow countryman Stefan Keifer´s fleet.

The head of the team has shown his satisfaction with the agreement reached with West, and is excited about the prospects of the team for the upcoming season.

“I´m delighted with the pair of riders that we have. The negotiations with Anthony have been long and hard, but finally everything has turned out well. We have a good level of rider and we will set out in a competitive manner. We have already asked for the bikes, the riders have been identified, and if all goes according to plan we are confident of starting the testing in January or at the start of February”, indicated Keifer.
