been riding for just over a year now (I even rode through the winter). It's taken me a year to get totally comfortable on the bike. Before I was just riding to get from point A to B, and it was fun, but ever since doing track days, street riding no longer fancies me.

For me learning the mechanics of motorcycles began just playing on a kx80 and an rm125. Wasn't til later in 2001 that I even sat on a street bike. My then husband was trying to sell his 94 ZX-9 and I asked if I could try it. I really thought how cool would this be if we could make a hobby of riding together..... wrong. I knew the day I rode that Kawi I wanted to take the sport more seriously and Memorial Day weekend of 02 I picked up my GSX-R600. We rode less and less together and eventually I sought out people in the area that rode as well, riding solo for 9k got to be a bit boring. I never formally took any instructional courses (but I strongly reccomend them) but simply observed those with more riding skills than myself. I don't always have as much time as I'd like to spend on riding and also wish that I had gotten more into street riding at an earlier age.

I got my license in Aug of 98. I learned on my buddiesd Kawasaki LTD 550 (83). Then the next season I bought my Katana which I still own. One day I will be able to afford a new one . I have not ridden since oct 03 since I'm on this damn island though. I won't be riding til April 07.

Rode in late '90. I was working at a car dealer that had Kawis and My 1st ride was a Vulcan 1500, 2nd ride was a ZX11!!!

Took the class in March 01. Bought a 600F2.
Started teaching MSF in 93.
Mid 95 bought a Magna1100(what was I thinking?!) then sold it late 05.
Went to the track once or twice a year in 98 and 99.
99 bought a XX, the F2 became track only.
Early 02 bought a 929 for the track, sold the F2 to a friend for street use(now it's her track bike). Also became a TPM coach then.

Wow do I feel like a newb!!! 2 seasons for me so far. The truth is that I waited till I was more mature to start riding. I know too many people that got hurt or died from riding. Buyt now that I'm on the bike I hope to ride until they take my license for being too old.

Thats pretty much exactly how I feel. I waited to start riding till I was 30. I'm really glad I did.
