Default Thoughts on the NYC bike show?

How many of us made it to the NYC Bike show? I went yesterday and found it to be OK, lacking the number of custom bikes on display that I have seen in the past years.
Some things were cool like the amout of custom cruiser builders on site and some of the vendors. I have definitely seen more active shows in the past. Sometimes I think its the cost of being at the Javits Center that prevents some of the smaller vendors from coming out.
It was cool to see the KTM display with the 125cc Red Bull Rookies cup bike as well as Rossi's and Stoner's GP machines there.

I did get a good deal on a 2 station battery tender with cable extenders though. Now that the show is over, its going to be a slightly longer winter...

Hope everyone has a happy new year.
Ken

I went Friday.( Thanks Ant! ) It was cool hanging at the BMW setup. Got to have dinner with ant and cakes at this Italian joint which was pretty good.
I think KTM got shafted by their placement on the floor. They had 2 nice bikes there.. The rookie cup gp 125 and that rooke custom ktm was cool also. I had a good time and I hope I win that raffle Bimmer.

Yes, I also thought KTM got shafted as well. Triumph got tired of the same treatment and hasn't been back to the Motorcycle Show in a couple of years now.

Yeah.... I think the choice of week, in the middle of the Holidays, was a mistake on the part of the organizers...I enjoyed the small bit I was able to see..Had to work so my time was limited

it was OK.

in the past i got my 1st 2-piece from a show vendor, stickers, cleaning solutions & other junk. this time i didn't really need anything for the bikes, so i was just looking around.

the $7 beers were cold (had 3 of 'em).

didn't sit on any bikes.
(i wanted to sit on the tall-for-me Suzuki RM-Z 450, but not after 3 beers).

i did sit in the toyota tacoma, kinda felt small inside after owning dodge rams for the past few years.

i thought it funny to be shopping for a new truck at a bike show.

I stepped in there later on Saturday and enjoyed it as usual, but I guess I'm easy to please. No crowds except for the all the momos heading to the Giants game on the Jersey side...that's another story.

I went Friday also, and I thought the scheduling worked out great.
There was very little traffic going in & out of the city, and the show
wasn't so crowded that you couldn't move around.
I hope they end up with the same days next year.

The show was good. Was there on Friday. I didn't mine when it was, during holidays + people on vacation = less crowded. Saw a few people I was glad to see, Ant, Carl, CBRBob, IrocRob, MPR, Hani, Stephan(sp?), AlexF4i(haven't seen you in ages bro, good to see ya!) Cool chillin w/the TPM booth, which to my surprise saw my pic mixed in with all the coaches in the slide show...thought that was cool. Pit Bull hooked me up with a 2nd mounting bracket for the trailer including the hardware for $20 Had no desire to sit on any bikes but sat on the new HP2 to make Ant happy
