They can try to postpone it, but on such a retarded ticket they probably wont. Not likely that a local cop wouldnt make it to a court date in his own town, he gets paid to be there.. I've had state police not show up on numerous occasions (every single time was when I had a VA license, hmmmmmm).... and as a result had 4pt speeding tickets reduced to 0 point impeding traffic tickets (which transferred to VA as a 3pt ticket!!!)

Anyhow its usually not worth the effort to fight stupid crap like this in court. I got one for unclear plates because the aftermarket undertail I have had the plate bend in the up position a few degrees and not perpedicular to the ground (which is not even a requirement). there is nothing unclear about my plate, this guy was just a total prick... anyhow the police station/court is literally adjacent to where i work and its still not worth the hassle of sitting in a courtroom for hours only to wind up paying it anyway, and probably more for court fees, etc...

You are kidding right?? What sportbike screen offers you any level of eye protection?

Are you serious, they actually give out tickets for that...?

I ride like that all the time.

That is some major bullshit.

Actually thats only partially true.

A windscreen CAN be a replacement for a vidor/eyeglasses, but it must be approved by the director of motor vehicles or something along those lines. I did a search for this myself on the DMV/MVS site a while back when this was discussed in the past... Check it out.. A sportbike windscreen offers zero eye protection.. That arguement is not going to hold up in court, sorry.
