Kangaroo vs. Cow 1-piece leathers
(just an observation) I heard Kangaroo was lighter than Cow but I was simply astounded at the difference in weight between the two. While at WCW I held a Vanson 1 piece with full armor in one hand, and a Kangaroo 1 piece with full armor in the other. In doing so the Vanson felt like it was 100 pounds. I believe Kangaroo would provide better overall bike performance at the track regarding sprung weight, handling, and lap times, but what about protection? Has anyone crash tested Kangaroo yet?

Everytime you see a MotoGP or WSB rider crash, thats 'roo. The MotoGP brand leathers you see people wear here are 'roo.

Most importantly the abrasion protection is much higher with roo rather than cow. The weight factor is just an added bonus.

What did Ron have to say about the differences in the suits?
I really like the MotoGP 'Roo suits but I dont fit into a 48. My vanson suit is only a year old. The leather is so thick I just cant see how those 'roo suits would hold up as well...

Stronger abrasion material. Easy difference, lighter weight and better protection.

It's not about thickness, more so tensile strength so to speak, the microfibers of 'Roo leather are stronger per mm of thickness compared to others, so others need to make up for that in thickness to equal the same abrasion protection. To add to what everyone said about the benefits, 'Roo suits also have nearly zero break in time, you can grab one off the shelf on Fri. and race comfortably all day Sat & Sun...and the price is very reasonable for what you get with the one piece retailing under $1,000.

Like others have said besides being much lighter Kangaroo is also about 3 times more abrasion resistant then cow.

the reason it's lighter than cow is because of the abrasion resistance. Since it can take a beating better, they can make it thinnir and viola, lighter wieght.
I just got one of those MotoGp suits, and they do feel very nice!

Ever see a couple of Roo's fight? They balance themselves on their tail and kick forward with their hind legs...Pretty impresive how their skin protects themselves against the nails of another Roo...they fugg some shit up too...

Seeing is believing... I've seen plenty of Vansons after crashes. They hold up very well. I know guite a few people with the MotoGP suits but no one has crashed in one yet...
We'll just have to wait and see...

Do you really believe the 'roo suits being sold for less then $800 are the same thing the top riders in the world are wearing?
