I use a joe rocket speedmaster 2.0 that matches my bike. I also have a joe rocket textile jacket i wear in the cold because i can fit sweat shirts underneath it.

As for pants i was looking at the icon jeans but they don't seem like anything special. So now im looking to get myself of set of these:

You can find them here for $65 http://www.newenough.com/armor_icon_...r_leg_page.htm

if you are going the vanson route GO TO THE FACTORY IN FALL RIVER!!!!! Try everything on. then buy it from www.eastcoastretail.com I was able to get the techrider pants for 375ish. Call Jackie from the website, she is really cool to deal with.

Also in the factory there is a cheapie bin. They will take any reasonable offer on that gear.

Joe Rocket Alter Ego (textile) that I usually wear on the street.. Held up decently in a 40ft or so lowslide, the most of it spent sliding on my stomache. I bought it because its pretty much a 3 season jacket..

For the track I have a 2pc A-stars TZ1 which I like a lot, and wear occasionally on the street... Crash tested once on wet grass (no damage) and last week, where I dont think I slid all that much and it protected me, but it didnt hold up as well as I thought it would.. Still in very usable condition, though...

Vanson 1 piece double zipper. Street and track. Lord knows, you need just as much if not more protection on the street than you do on the track.

So what would be the difference between these and a pair of Tims hiking (not work) boots, seems to kinda be the same deal, right?
