Default What's up with DougZ??

Haven't been around here too much lately. Wasn't even online too much after my crash at VIR last year. I also decided to stop doing track days for the time being...getting married at the end of this year,m and didn't wanna break anything again. With that siad, I considered this place a local of my track buddies....no track days, no reason to come around. Again, I wasn't always thinking right.

I did come back to the shout box a couple months after, and someone in the shoutbox had a smart ass answer to a simple question...I won't say who....but it reminded me that there are some real asshats on this site. For a moment, it actually reminded me of the "new" TSSB. Luckily, not everyone here is like that.

I think for the first time in my life, I had gone through an actual depression...and didn't wanna even think about bikes. Luckily, all that is behind me....a solid year later. The leg has healed well, and the lungs too...damn blood clots. Outside still having a bunch of medical bills that I am not quite sure if my insurance is gonna pay or not, things are good.

I have started making and selling some parts. ( I have a PM into Cakes about maybe advertising here). Just some small stuff...quick release tank kits, rear res delete kits, SV plate holders, some odd spacers, and clear clutch window kits...made by a machinist buddy of mine. Here's the site if anyone wants to check it out:

www.dougzcustoms.com

I am also getting into making some other parts..but R&D is a slow process. I am working on affordable belly pans and frame sliders, right now.

After the crash, I had also sold the GSXR track bike to try and keep my head above water...NJ disability doesn't pay you crap. I still had most of the parts from the spare bike that I had bought off Mike Roberts, so I have decided to start building a street fighter out of it. I also did some major mods to the SV1Ks over the winter....you can see all those projects here: (yeah, I had a lot of time to make up HTML pages. LOL)

http://home.comcast.net/~dougzweb/

Through getting involved in the fighter bike, I got on board with a new site....and have done some stuff for them...in an exchange for some help the dude that runs it, did for me. I did a write up for the SV Rally this past year down at the Dragon:

http://www.customfighters.com/newsle...7_07/rally.htm

And also, an interview with Roland Sands:

http://www.customfighters.com/newsle...7_08/dougz.htm

My HTML page for same thing...one page format:

http://home.comcast.net/~dougzweb/sands.html

That's the latest with me. I am trying to get the fighter project done some time this decade....as well as ride my SV as much as I can....getting ready for the wedding at the end of the year.

So, hopefully, I'll be back around here some more, and be in tune with what's going on around these parts.

I'm a little older, heavier but still the same bro. Big difference is I'm living with my girl these days. Bad news is she ain't blonde anymore but oh well.

The parts look good bro. I can't wait to see what type of fiberglass you got cooked up.
