Default Biaggi confirms MotoGP exit

News, 10/01/06

Max Biaggi has returned home after a few days rest in America, where he has enjoyed a quiet Christmas vacation away from the persistent rumours about his possible arrival in World Superbike Championship.

"I’ve spent my Christmas holidays in the States. I’ve been training a lot with my Supermotard bike, taking advantage of the great weather conditions (around 20°C), then of course a bit of jogging and gymwork”

Biaggi has spoken again about his departure from MotoGP, and has put on his personal website that he will unveil a book, to be published in a few weeks time, in which all the secrets of his relationship with Repsol Honda will be revealed and exactly what led his departure from the World Championship.

“In these last two months I have read a lots of things about myself, loads of incorrect reports, but I’ve decided to live with it and not even to reply, it isn´t worth it” explained the Roman Emperor. “As all of you already know I have been put in this terrible situation by Honda and as a consequence I won't participate in MotoGP in 2006”.

With regards to the possibility of entering the world of Superbikes, Biaggi spoke highly of the series. “I have always appreciated this category, I also have a few friends in there and they have all my respect. So I am considering this opportunity as a very good one. The difficulties grow as time passes though, in light of the fact that since December 15th we have still been trying to reach an agreement with Kawasaki”

The Roman added that in the coming week he would be able to give more details about his options for competing in Superbikes this coming season.

don't really like the guy, but don't want to see him out of MotoGP. Competition makes racing good, sucks that honda (and every other manufacturer) and him couldn't get it done.
