Switching to FIOS
Has anyone had any problems when changing from cable to FIOS? They use your existing Coax correct? Is the wireless router any good?? I have a netgear one already that works fine. Do I need to use theirs or can I continue to use my own?
The sales guy mentioned something about the wireless router communicating with the DVR? Not sure about this but my current DVR is in the closet(downstairs) hidden and my wireless router is up in my attic/office.
Any thing I should be wary of?

i've had it for over a year now the best move i ever made. there wires router is part of there reg. internet box where you connect a desk to all in 1. you can hook up 4 comp's to there box by hard wire if you wanted.

As long as your coax is RG6 they can use it. They'll want to re-terminate the ends and replace any splitters though. We're using the supplied router here with no problems.

Well, as we speak, our condo complex looks like a golf course with all of the flags and spray paint they put down to start the FIOS install. Our complex is huge and it looks like they are really going to tear the place up with all the digging. They are even attaching molding to the condos to run wires...any updates on Fios & if it's worth the switch? I know they will offer everything for ~ $95.00/ month for the 1st year...but that's not much less then I'm paying now for cable. (BTW:, I'm pretty happy with cable.) Any idea how long it takes for them to lay the wires etc?

Even if you only get the tv, you get a router. The box(and dvr) gets their info from the internet and is back fed. It seems that they will sometimes use coax, sometimes they will run cat cable. I have the tv/net/phone and all is well. I dont have hd or dvr(yet), so i cant speak for it. Cust service is excellent.
