Default Little Red Hen

Speaking of children... Here's a new version that's even more accurate.
=======================================

The Little Red Hen called all of her Democrat neighbors together and said,
'If we plant this wheat, we shall have bread to eat. Who will help me plant it?'
'Not I,' said the cow.
'Not I,' said the duck.
'Not I,' said the pig.
'Not I,' said the goose.
'Then I will do it by myself,' said the little red hen, and so she did.

The wheat grew very tall and ripened into golden grain.
'Who will help me reap my wheat?' asked the little red hen.
'Not I,' said the duck..
'Out of my classification,' said the pig.
'I'd lose my seniority,' said the cow.
'I'd lose my unemployment compensation,' said
the goose.
'Then I will do it by myself,' said the little red hen, and so she did.

At last it came time to bake the bread.
'Who will help me bake the bread?' asked the little red hen.
'That would be overtime for me,' said the cow.
'I'd lose my welfare benefits,' said the duck.
'I'm a dropout and never learned how,' said the pig.
'If I'm to be the only helper, that's discrimination,' said the goose.
'Then I will do it by myself,' said the little red hen.

She baked five loaves and held them up for all of her neighbors to see.
They wanted some and, in fact, demanded a share.
But the little red hen said, 'No, I shall eat all five loaves.'
'Excess profits!' cried the cow. (Nancy Pelosi)
'Capitalist leech!' screamed the duck. (Barbara Boxer)
'I demand equal rights!' yelled the goose. (Jesse Jackson)
The pig just grunted in disdain. (Ted Kennedy)
And they all painted 'Unfair!' picket signs and marched around and
around the little red hen, shouting obscenities.

Then the farmer (Obama) came. He said to the little red
hen, 'You must not be so greedy.'
'But I earned the bread,' said the little red hen.
'Exactly,' said Barack the farmer. 'That is what makes our free
enterprise system so wonderful. Anyone in the barnyard can earn as much as he wants.
But under our modern government regulations, the productive workers must divide the fruits of their labor with those who are lazy and idle.'

And they all lived happily ever after, including the little red hen, who
smiled and clucked, 'I am grateful, for now I truly understand.'
But her neighbors became quite disappointed in her. She never again baked
bread because she joined the 'party' and got her bread free.
And all the Democrats smiled. 'Fairness' had been established.
Individual initiative had died, but nobody noticed; perhaps no one
cared...so long as there was free bread that 'the rich' were paying for.

What do the top ten cities with the highest poverty rate all have in common?

DEMOCRAT LEADERSHIP!

Detroit, MI (1st on the poverty rate list) hasn't elected a Republican mayor since 1961;

Buffalo, NY (2nd) hasn't elected one since 1954;

Cincinnati, OH (3rd)... since 1984;

Cleveland, OH (4th)... since 1989;

Miami, FL (5th) has never had a Republican Mayor;

St. Louis, MO (6th).... since 1949;

El Paso, TX (7th) has never had a Republican Mayor;

Milwaukee, WI (8th)... since 1908;

Philadelphia, PA (9th)... since 1952;

Newark, NJ(10th)... since 1907.

It is the disadvantaged who habitually elect Democrats - And they are still disadvantaged...

She replied, 'I'd give food and houses to all the homeless people.'

'Wow - what a worthy goal,' I told her. 'You don't have to wait until you're President to do that. You can come over to my house and mow, pull weeds, and sweep my yard, and I'll pay you $50. Then I'll take you over to the grocery store where the homeless guy hangs out, and you can give him the $50 to use toward food or a new house.'

She thought that over for a few seconds 'cause she's only 6. And while her Mom glared at me, she looked me straight in the eye and asked, 'Why doesn't the homeless guy come over and do the work, and you can just pay him the $50?'

And I said, 'Welcome to the Republican Party.'

Her folks still aren't talking to me.

That's a perfect example of why we won't be able to vote these socialists out of office once more than 51% of the people are dependent on the government rather than themselves.

... Health care, welfare, education, housing bailouts, banks, agriculture, etc.
So many people are literally being bribed and hyped to vote dem.... and it only gets worse for them.

Too many people consuming more than they produce.

Ken how do you feel about this?

"The Practice Of Earmarking Grant Funding For State And Local Law Enforcement Must End And These Funds Must Be Awarded Based Upon Merit And Need"

John McCain Supports Reforming The Process For Funding State And Local Law Enforcement. John McCain supports federal funding for state and local law enforcement; however, rampant earmarking of federal funding to state and local law enforcement has reduced funding to many worthy law enforcement authorities and local jurisdictions. John McCain will restore credibility to these grant programs by ensuring funding is based on need and provided to the most worthy jurisdictions based on a peer-review of grant applications. "

I have no specific feelings either way about it, when we get Federal money sometimes it comes with so many strings attached that its not worth it. I am sure that some of this came from all the grumbling that followed 9-11 with NYC and other cities getting lots of Federal assistance money wise for stepped up patrols of the financial district and seaports.

I work in an agency that gets federal $$ for lots of things even before 9-11, if they took it away, we'd still be OK since we have the tax base to suport ourselves.

Some agencies don't have enough tax revenue to even have a local police agency and are solely covered by their respective State Police. They also need Federal money just to be able to buy patrol cars. The needs of the thousands of agencies varies so greatly, its hard to know where to begin to explain it. Port cities like NYC, Baltimore, New Orleans and Miami may get Fed money for increased water patrol capability. Cities like Indianapolis may get money for new cars, new cops salaries or something else entirely. It is incredibly large and the agency itself has to apply for funds explaining their specific needs. He's promising to deliver funds after a harder scrutiny..I have no problem with that.

Same thing goes for Federal money coming into the State for highway modernization...the Fed will only grand a state money to improve highways if they'll enforce the "55MPH- Stay Alive" .. not every state believes in that. If they don't play ball with the Feds, they don't get the financial assistance leaving the State to get it done by themselves.

First of all I am not democrat or republican nor do I think any of the candidates is the ideal one. However I have mixed reactions to this video.

On one hand, its nice to see the old McCain for a bit, as I think he finds this character stuff distasteful and just can't stomach what his campaign has been doing any more (either that or the fact that its backfiring on him in the polls is getting to be too much).

Secondly the look of sheer disgust on his face just nails the sentiment most (intelligent)republicans should be feeling when they hear those statements. People have let this go beyond control of what really lays at hand. The political issues. Yes the background of each individual should be taken into high consideration but this kind of politics is just cut throat. I think the founding fathers are turning in their graves at this moment.

Chris
those are valid points. Politics is cut throat business and anyone who thinks its played fair and on the level is living in some other world. Its been dirty business since the time of the ancient Greeks. Lots of back door BS and back stabbing.

As far as what's going on today, maybe McCain can run a more polite campaign but maybe in the next few weeks some more sleepy minded Americans will wake up and begin to take notice of the media freight train that is seemingly pushing for Obama to occupy the White House.

On the other hand, maybe its McCain who fired the first shot in the closing weeks. I really doubt it if the Obama campaign is not prepared to sling some mud in the other direction. Its that being ahead in most of the BS polls allows him the luxury of not having to.

Vote,or loose the right to complain...at least to me..

What would you have done?
McCain's in a tough spot. He knows the background issues need to be addressed. The media focused on a few choice hicks getting crazy and made it seem like the Republicans were out of control...

The valid and important issues concerning Obama's values have still not been addressed by him or his campaign. He says one thing, but his extreme voting record says another... what are we to believe?

Most people say all politicians are full of "it" so we can basically ignore what they say and look at their voting records and their actions and who they associate with. ( Wright 101 )
