I always had to assume I was invisible to cagers be it day or night so I rode accordingly. But it's not what I can see, it's what I can't see, and the headlight only exposes so much to the eye along the path of travel at night. I prefered day riding over night and actually avoided night riding as much as possible for obvious reasons.

BTW Bobby, you get the bike back already? I seen it at Hanover waiting for you all purty and clean....they did a nice job on it.

Night time is cooler out, less traffic....down sides are the ground is also cooler, debris in the road that can't be seen or doesn't allow enough reaction time if you are going too fast, lack of lighting, cops aren't easily seen, etc....
Day time (morning to noonish) is my preference, less traffic in the am, more open roads, sight isn't a problem, ground is warming up/warm, etc...

I have been doing night rides lately to go places, but not to hit anything hard, although last year after Chatterbox bike night, Spyder and I hit Sussex county backroads...hit em pretty hard and good, visor loaded up with bugs, but the feeling was awesome cause the challenge was so much greater. I get bored easily, so that was a different challenge that made it exciting.
Good experience, but also could have been bad too.

I like riding at night in the summer because its cooler and there are usually less cars around, but I do have to be more careful becasue of all the deer that live in my area, and all the other animals too. Oh, and the lightning bugs are really annoying when the sun sets cause it feels like someone is throwing tons of tiny gummy bears at me

Do the bugs stay lit on your shield for right after impact?
