Good Luck with your new ride. I have an 05 Durango with the same 4.7 .
Watch the transmission. Mine crapped out at 30k miles. Make sure the warranty is in effect...thankfully the parts and labor were covered. Also see if it has the towing package with the transmission cooler. if not, its a simple add on. After the trasmission incident, I opted for additional warranty coverage.

My first truck had the 4.7 and I towed the big trailer with that.

My 6X12 wont be a problem.

Get the transmission serviced...

Nice truck, good luck with it... Same engine and probably the same transmission as my Dakota (54RLE or 45RLE, i think). Definately get the trans fluid changed unless you know a dealer did it recently. Dodge is notorious for having transmission issues apparently, but the one matched with the 4.7 is relatively new and I am hoping its a bit more reliable. The thing can actually be programmed into an 8spd from what I've read (not practical, just possible).

Thats what I towed down to VIR memorial day weekend, and also haul an 18ft boat with 4.3L Merc I/O, so it can definately tow. Overdrive off, but I believe it was you that mentioned that at Summit when we stopped to pick up joe.
