i should have placed a disclaimer on my original post
WARNING - if you do as i did, don't blame me if you break something...
hauled the bike to irocrob's to get fresh tires on for the upcoming track season. hey now, why not use that wheel chock i cobbled up together - great idea!
loaded up fine all by myself. 4-point strap into the truckbed, all nice & snug. the entire 90mi round-trip to/from, no worries - bike was in there tight as a drum.
unloading was a snap since there were two of us. me in the front pulling the bike up off the chock as irocrob was in the rear holding steady down the ramp. fresh tires are on, bike back in the truck, strap her down, head for home.
now i'm home, unloading alone. it's dark now so it's hard to see. i cannot get the bike up off the chock. as i pull the bike up & rearwards, the chock bolted on the plank of wood just drags along with the front tire. after numerous attempts, no luck.
i'm so angry, i get all green & turn into the hulk - yanking on the front with all i've got. i get the wheel up & over but now the entire chock & plank of wood rotate rearwards since it's not bolted into the truck bed. the top end of the chock rotates downward onto the front fender snapping off a nice chunk.
since it was too dark i didn't see what was happening, i did hear a snap, crackle, pop - but thought it was just the chock & wood plank knocking around. cleaning up the truck bed, i found the broken fender piece
