I have ridden my RC51 through that area in 2003, nice place to ride, plenty of places to crash. As much as I enjoyed it, I don't think I would repeat it on a sportbike there. There were so many bikes and cars on the single lane roads that there was too much traffic to really enjoy it the way the story was reported. I was in Atlanta watching the end of season WERA races at Road Atlanta near my father's place.
I saw this topic on another discussion board and my take on the report was that the reporter was pretty fair stating over and over that it was a small number of sportbike riders who ride recklessly. I agree, but those few will do some damage to our sport and make insurance rates climb more and more each year.
Negative publicity like that and from the sportriders show on SPEED will only serve to hurt the sport rider community as a whole unless counterred by information about the positive things about our sport.
