I'll check to see if I can beat that price for you. We have Woodcraft as one of our suppliers.

I have Sato's on my RC51 and Woodcraft on my TL1000R. With either bike, I keep the OEM rearsets with me at the track in case of a crash as spares.
I agree with what the others have said. The Sato's are purely an eye candy item and are very costly to buy and to get replacement parts for. I believe the Sato's are some of the best made, but I would hate to crash test them at that cost.

My '07 catalog has a discrepency with your bike. It does not list a "B" designation except for the R6. I have a call going in tomorrow AM and will post back with a exact price. Sorry to make you wait.

According to Woodcraft, the pedals are no longer available for your bike. If the have the "complete" kit, it is old stock. You may want to get them. I cannot. I can however, get a rearset kit without pedals and you can use your stock ones.

Ok don't hate me for my ignorance but what do aftermarket rearsets do for you? More clearance to get the bike over farther in the corners? Or is it more of a look thing?

There's no hating here man, ask away.

For the most part you just answered your own questions. Certain models offer some adjustability for leg/foot position regarding comfort and/or lean angle clearance, the look is just part of the package.

i got them for the extra clearance. from what i've heard the 98-01 R1's have lower clearance than newer models. i've been to the track just a few times and on several occasions i've scraped my toe slider...even though i *think* i am on the balls of my feet.. overall, hopefully it'll help me with my form and to ride better.
