Default Somewhat disappointing...

I was expecting something at least remotely close to this...

http://www1.suzuki.co.jp/motor/tokyo2001/bking-f.html

but they released this instead, allegedly derived from the original design...

http://www.suzuki-gb.co.uk/model.asp?id=108

It's still nice, but a bigger powerplant would have made the bike more desirable. A streetfighter should have more torque than that. Doubt we'll see either stateside anytime soon though, if ever.

They could have at least put the GSXR750 mill in it... The disappointment would be a little less. Is the GSR going to replace the old GS line?

think so? how do you go from a supercharged busa engine to a gsxr600 one? all that remains of the concept is the styling...

It reminds me of the light that pighoof and i saw on a mv at american warhorse. They seem to big for the whole naked look. I mean the pic looks good but in person its a little off.

The headlight seems to be proportional to the rest of the bodywork in the head-on shots, the lens just might bubble out a bit causing it to look larger.

I believe Suzuki isn't going to risk the extra cost on a supercharged 1300cc street fighter, and for an intro bike the cost will stay lower and more euro riders can be available with the proper permits to ride it as opposed to it being a 1300.

Overall it's still fairly close to the concept design, some bikes don't even get that close in the final product.

Its like anything, they have books out there with concept cars that never make it to productuion. And alot of them are bad ass. But in the end the design is hacked over by marketers and money men to figure out what they think will sell and how much it will cost to make versus their end profit. As for the final design of this bike, its ok. I personally like the styling of the MV Brutale the best of the nakeds out there.

I can see why you'd be disappointed, the concept was amazing looking and killer specs... hopefully this IS a try and buy type thing where they see if people buy into it...
