New helmet
Ok i know this isnt as bad as what tires to get or what oil to use but here goes. My Arai is prety much ready to be put out to pasture and with christmas comming I threw it out there that I needed a new helmet. Now the Shoeis and Arais may be a bit over the budget this year. I was wondering what you guys think to some of the more affordable lids out there as I would be using this for track and street riding. For now i woul dprefer something on the lighter side since I am used to my arai quantum II. Apparently these lids are kinda lound anyway so I guess I am used to the noise.
For a back up I may get one of those HJC's that new enough has on closeout for 80 bucks.

search ebay, you should find a few suomy [or shoei or arai] for cheap, they are pretty good helmets and light weight too.

I have the KBC VR-2 Mladin replica, no complaints here and the price has come down quite a bit on them.

I wore an EXO700 to class and back today. Noisy thing! Other than that, good. Probably a hallucination, but it seemed like the field of vision was slightly smaller than my HJC Cl14? I think

I have the EXO-700 that I won here. I use it for riding in the summer and love it There is a lot of airflow in the chin area for winter riding in my opinion. When it's colder I use my Icon or HJC.

I just bought a KBC, Force RR in titanium matte, for under $200. Very nice helmet and it comes with no fog shield. I used to have an Arai, which was very nice but I like the KBC just as much.

Scorpion EXO 700. they're a great helmet for the dough. Personally, I'd stay away from the HJC's. I've not had very good results with them in the past. The Scorpions also have a chin curtain for use when it gets cold out.

.... I wear a beat-up turtle neck sweater and a bakalava. And that pretty
much corrects the problem. And I ride until the temp goes below 40 degress F.
