Default experience help needed

in in-ground pools

i got a 45 thousand gallon pool that i recently had the liner replaced. beautiful liner i must add.

but, when the liner was put in i was told to fill the water, they marked it where to stop filling and call them. fine i did that. while on the phone they asked me 2 questions.

1) does the liner appear to be falling off the wall, or did it fall off the wall.

ME - after really examining it. NO it looks good to me.

2) does the liner have any wrinkles on any of the walls or anywhere on the floor.

ME - after examining it good again. NO

she tells me to continue filling until water raises 1/2 above the 3rd step and call her again. fine. few hours later water is at that mark. but its 11:30pm or so. i call 2 days later. because next day is Sunday. i call Monday tell her water is at that mark. she said someone will be over before 2pm to put the new skimmer plate in and the new jet covers in.

they were at 3pm just as well. had them in within 10 minutes tops.

NOW the filter works. but the Polaris doesnt. i went to a pool place and explained the situation to a guy that knows his shit just from me listening to him talk to other customers. but as im talking to him, hes looking at the ceiling, moving boxes and then asks another worker several times to do something, so it took me like 30 minutes to explain to him the situation. all for him to say he needs to see the product and to bring it in. im like the filter is huge, i got a 45 thousand gallon inground pool and there no way im picking up a sand filter for that type of pool by myself needless to say with 3 others. its not to complicated to disconnect hoses and and the wires that are hardwired and also wants me to bring in the Polaris pump. then he said fill out a card for a pool tech to come out. so im like okay i'll do that until i found out the price at the counter. $350.00 for them to come out look at it for 1 minute and say this is bad, or you need that. or this is leaking.

fuck that shit!!

anybody got experience on a polaris pump working together with the filter.? i know thay both got to be on at the same time. but what do i connect to where..? something needs to feed the polaris pump to work from what i was told. is this true..?

any help will be great before i have to spend the $350 for Seacrest to come here

the pump should have its own electrical supply to the panel box for the pool. also make sure that you did not pop a circuit. I wasn't sure from reading your post if it was running at all or not working properly. I don't understand why it may be the filter.

yes, the pump for the filter and the polaris booster are running on their own electric supply.

let me see if i can explain this right.

the polaris booster has two connections on it, for hoses and/or pvc pipe. 1 on the front and another on the top. the way it was supposed to be hooked up is the line that goes to the pool is supposed to be connected to the polaris booster on the top. but the previous home owner had it in the front. and theres the 2nd connection on the booster that connects to the filter which supplys the water to the booster and he had that on top. which wasnt feeding water to the polaris booster for the polaris cleaner to work. with taking several pictures to the pool place, this was explained to me in somewhat of okay "WANNA SAY IT AGAIN" then he showed me several pictures of the work they did, and many pictures in books of how the 2 work together and how they should be connected. instead of ripping everything off, starting new with the right pvc and hoses i decided to buy everything new being the filter and motor both are old, its marked 1987 on the filter motor and 1988 on the filter and i couldnt find a date on the polaris booster but it looked older then dirt. all the correct hoses, clamps and pvc fittings. took me a few hours to get it all together because this is my 1st time ever messing with this but i got it all working properly. and i mean everything works. i know im gonna feel the pressure when the credit card bill comes in. but hey, i got new and set for 20+ years on it. and a 10 year warranty on everything but the polaris booster. that only came with 6

I feel your pain. I went 2 years fighting with a DE filter before I went and bought a new sand filter. Now I'm headache free and the pool is ready. Now I just need a few warm days to get the water up to a temp that is bearable.
Now make sure you get some use out of the pool. With all of the work I put into mine I make sure I get in at least once a week once it is warm enough. sometime I'll come home and jump in before I do anyhing.
