This is just a hunch, but if that helmet is all banged up and scratched they might not pass it.

actually, it's just that the helmet's like pretty big on me. I mean i can still ride with it, but all i know is that with a lil force i can pull the helmet so far down that the opening could be down to my cheek. There are no scrathces or dents. But maybe i'll just use my reg helmet and pull the stickers off.....

A good way to put on the refelective tape a not ruin your helmet is to: put down masking tape first, then put the reflective tape on the maskign tape. It makes it a lot easier getting it off. Good luck with your inspection. Maybe some day i'll get mine done.

You guys make like putting retro on your helmet will ruin it.
Get creative! As long as its the right size/color it dosen't have to be a square, have something made!

I passed last time (sept 04 maybe?) with my D&D on, and as most of you know, that thing is loud. I dont remember if they made me start it up... But they didnt check my reflective tape either (last year sept 05) which I forgot to bring with me. I just put on a Halo band which is legal and removable... I would use it, but it has a habit of flying off and around my neck at high speed which is a distraction...

Depending on how picky the inspector is, they won't accept the Halo. I tried, and the guy printed out the requirements for me which clearly stated you needed 4 square inches of material permanently affixed. I forget the exact wording, I know stickers can be removed, but something easily removable like the Halo wasn't acceptable. I made him print it out for me. Like I said, depends on the day. I went one day and they passed me with the Halo. I went back the very next day to the same station with a friend's bike and a different inspector failed me for the Halo. I just keep an older helmet all stickered up as my "inspection helmet".

Blinkers are not required in NJ. I had no fronts and an integrated rear, no problems. But I guess the DMV likes my face because I've never had a problem with anything.

Signals are not required by law in NJ, but if your bike does have them they need to be able to function properly and must be properly spaced on the tail. Depending on the inspection's location integrated taillight/signal kits might or might not fail.

I passed inspection at the DMV on 46 right before 23 last year with a tinted shield, D&D pipe (they just had me turn it on and leave it at idle so it wasn't obnoxiously loud) and integrated turn signals... so I'm pretty sure you should be able to pass.

oh..hymm....didn't know that signals weren't needed. My friend doesn't have them in the front, so i guess he'll still pass. But just to let you guys know, i passed inspection on Thurs. But the only thing is, i have bronchitus, and was supposed to take my girl out on a ride today since its gonna be like 70 degrees. I dunno if thats going to happen or not.....-= \

I wouldn't be too sure about that one, if he's missing them on the front yet still has them on the rear they will be considered a failure because they're still on the bike but improperly displayed/used.
