Default What to do with old helmets?

Seriously - what do you do with old helmets no longer suitable for riding? Not crashed, just old. Seems a shame just to chuck it in the trash...

If they are really not fit to use for riding, they should be destroyed to avoid someone getting their hands on them, using them and possibly sustaining serious injury due to failure.

Thanks all. To an unwanted corner of a closet it goes (though kudos to the hollow point suggestion).
