Race For Relief
Race For Relief II To Assist Homeless Pets...
In August, 2005, hurricane Katrina struck the Gulf Coast, leaving thousands dead, injured and homeless. A group of generous Roadracing enthusiasts scrambled to organize Race For Relief, a day-long endurance race that raised an impressive $36,000 for the American Red Cross relief efforts. Today, Pittsburgh and its surrounding communities are struggling to find homes for thousands of homeless cats and dogs while local animal shelters seek funds to keep these unwanted pets alive. On Thursday, August 16, Beaverun Motorsports Complex in Wampum, Beaver County will host the second Race For Relief motorcycle endurance marathon to aid the Western Pennsylvania’s Homeless Cat Management Team and Foster Cat Incorporated. Open to track day enthusiasts of all skill levels, Race For Relief challenges riders to give as hard as they race, donating a set fee for each lap completed around Beaverun’s challenging, 1.6-mile roadrace course.
