Default Routes to Montreal

Does anyone here know a nice route to take to Montreal? No, I don't want to take 87 all the way up.

I'm thinking for taking a ride up there this summer for a long weekend. Has anyone here done that ride? I know it takes about 5.5 hrs from Rockland, NY so I'm estimating 8-9 hours on the bike with gas and rest stops.

I think it was JonFZ1 on the other site that posted up a trip he took through vermont, which seemed really cool, I think he made it to canada, but not to Montreal...

I went to Montreal on the bike in Sept 05, and took 87 the whole way there and back (not by choice)... it sucked...

I'm riding up for the F1 in June. Going through the Adirondacks. 10 - 30 - 3. Going to take two days to ride under 300 miles, should be fun.

nnjhawk02 was actually thinking riding upfor F1. After 3, are you doing the back road crossing to Canada or will you be taking 87 up?

Depends on the roads really. If there are some nice roads then back roads (we have time!) but otherwise it'll be 87 - 15. We're riding up Thursday to Lake Saranac (mmmmm Ginger Beer) via the roads mentioned and then from there we haven't really decided yet.
