The logo would be for the show, as would the site.

all the information will be posted in due time when it is finalized. we are just taking the first steps in trademarking our show with a logo and website. of course more details can be given to the artist to help with creation of the logo and site. but in terms of info for the general public, we dont have anything finalized yet.

I'm interested just to see how mine might compare to anyone else you got, even if it's just the logo. re: the website. As you say, there are plenty of templates out there.

PM me some of the information if it's not already too late.

while i agree with that posting, this is not a black and white world. i feel like most people would have no problem utilizing their skills to help out a friend..which of course isn't the case in this situation because we don't know each other.

the author of the craigslist posting gives some examples of professionals you wouldn't ask for free service, but he fails to mention examples of professionals that DO promote their work with FREE products. for example, people who develop freeware and distribute them over the internet. lawyers who do pro bono work. musicians who distribute their mp3s over the net to gain a fan base. people who do free oil changes for their friends. people who listen to their friends problems and offer free advice (should they charge their friends for being their therapists?). and the list goes on.

i agree that a lot of businesses may not appreciate the pro bono work that the artist does for them. and it's always a risk. not everyone knows me on here but i am a very giving person and will give back to everyone that helps and supports me; im not a corporate business with a million dollar revenue who is too cheap to pay an artist a few hundred dollars. anyways there is more background info i would love to give, but i didn't post it for fear of making it sound like a sob story.

i dont disagree that artists are talented and that their work warrants compensation. but there are people that will do pro bono work for a cause, and those were the people i was looking for. obviously that isn't you. i didn't mean to offend you, but while the viewpoint of the author of the craigslist posting is idealistic, it is certainly not realistic.
