Ever find yourself in this situation?

You are busy doing something and all of a sudden it dawns on you that your wife has been talking to you for at LEAST 5 minutes and you have no idea what she just said. And she is looking at you.

How do ya handle this situation?

99% of the time those work but I think she is on to me.

I say something like... "sorry babe, i was distracted by my stomach...its hurting all of a sudden.. " then go to bathroom and read a bike mag for little while.

just act like you never noticed she was talking. eventually she'll get tired of talking and go away! you have to be consistent and do it everytime. i'm at the point where she doesn't even bother trying to tell me.

she just yells for a minute and leaves.

Well Im not married but when the GF does that I just be honest and say. I'm sorry honey I really wasn't paying attention and didn't hear a word you said. You now have have my full attention and tell her to repeat what she said.

Either she gets pissed and says forget it or she tells you. It usually works.

I usually just look at her blankly for a second and then apologize and ask her to repeat what she was saying. If I did catch any of what she was saying, I'll repeat that bit too. That usually works for me.
