Need To Make A Bracket - Sportbike Addicts

Freggin bracket that holds the tail onto the back of my track bike broke. The homemade bracket that the previous owner had on there finally took a crap...I think its because of the way I take the bike off the rear stand, foot by the wheel of the stand and just push the bike forward. When I do this the handle of the pitbull stand hits the bottom of the tail...anywho...need to make something like the first pic shows...I was able to piece it together for the pic...but in the second pic you can see where the parts that extend out broke off. Maybe something more sturdy(different material.) Off to Home Depot to see if I can muster something up

Cakers, Dan......blue GSXR 600, yellow number plate, #38, at Summit right next to us under shade thing..he just made one of those last week too. Im sure he could make another one if you don't come up with anything good.

dude.....home depot. in the hardware section....by the nuts and bolts. they have a assortment of aluminum stock. get something a inch or so wide...use a vice to carefully bend it into shape and your done.

for Pilot's post. Plenty of stuff in Homey De-pot to use for a bracket -- just check the decking tools.

Bingo, take your time and measure things several times. I have a bracket similar to that on my 929. If you make it more triangular than square it will be stronger. Come check out the rearset brackets I made for Rita's F2 at VIR

Operation Bracket complete. Did just what pilot said...yesterday went to HD, picked up a 4 foot strip of drilled steel...went to my uncle this mornin cause hes got a whole machine shop set up in his garage...measured it up...did some bending with the vice...little grinding with a wheel and hooked it up...a lil tweak here, tweak there, works perfect...Little advice...when makin a bracket like this or whatever, always use steel. Aluminum tends to crack and weaken when you bend it...thanks for the ideas everyone :biggthump

*tip ** sometimes weaker is better then stronger. Youd rather have the bracket break then have your tail crack off....I use zip ties from my tail to my homade brachet...so that they will break in the event of a getoff because ive been pushing my luck for too long

Like I said...doesn't look pretty but it got the job done...came out a tad wide which nothin a lil bendin and tweakin can't fix...had there been more time I woulda made another one but I don't care...'specially since we're leavin Sat. for VIR.
