Default Getting a good deal at a dealership- help

I'm trading in my 06 675 with 20k miles on it for a 08-09 leftover speed triple. What is the best strategy for getting the best deal. I was told not to tell the sales person about the trade in until I get the final price for the new bike. Is this true. Anyone can give me some tips here.

Don't mention a trade in, don't mention how much your looking to spend on monthly payments, don't say if your going to finance or buy it out right. Get the best price that you like, then hit them with the trade in. But don't go to monmouth cycles now, cuz they are well aware of it after reading this!!

I saw that bike at the All Revved UP event and thought it was a custom job. Triumph did a fantastic job on that bike!!!!! Good luck with it.
