Default Shower Faucet Problems

This may be tough to explain, but has anybody ever run into the problem where the water diverter valve in your shower spout still allows water to drip from the spout once you pull the stem up...thus, diverting water to the shower head? So as a result, what is happening is that water is supposed to be coming out of the only the top, but still a bit of water comes out of the spout on the bottom. Any suggestions on a fix?

take off the faucet handle....pull out the internals and replace the rubber o-ring/washer. it's SHOULD be an easy and inexpensive fix.

yeah, my guess would be the seal is not good, which would mean an o-ring, or something similar, or there could be some hard deposits (calcium, etc) thats preventing a good seal as well.
