Default Only 2 Weeks Until R2SL Heads to VIRginia International Raceway!

Improve your riding skills, contribute to a worthy charity, mingle with some of Superbike’s best riders and ride on one of America’s most scenic race tracks. Racing 2 Save Lives brings their unique fund-raising program to the Suzuki Big Kahuna Nationals AMA Superbike Championship races at VIRginia International Raceway. In its sole East Coast appearance, R2SL supports children’s charities by raising awareness, involvement, and capital within the motorcycling community through donations, corporate sponsorship and fundraising events.

The program at VIR will be held August 14-17 on VIR’s South Course, a 1.65-mile challenging and fun shortened version of the entire 3.27-mile track. The Suzuki Big Kahuna Nationals will use the North Course, the adjacent other half of the full course.

The entire event schedule includes a trio of three-hour sessions each day, this provides participants the least expensive track time available over a four-day span, all for charity and fully tax-deductible.

Participants who wish to remain for the entire race weekend will be allowed to purchase reduced-cost tickets for the Suzuki Big Kahuna Superbike weekend. Regular price for three-day admission is $80. Participating riders in the R2SL event will save $15 off the cost of admission and as a bonus, get a special parking pass and a Fan Lap of the North Course during the AMA race weekend!

An additional bonus is the opportunity to qualify to race on the R2SL kart team in VIR’s signature Suzuki Big Kahuna Nationals Superstars Kart Enduro Challenge. This now traditional, nearly legendary event matches lucky fans, riders, officials, media representatives and track personnel in a no contact race against the clock on VIR’s Plantation Valley Kart Track. Each driver’s best time is recorded and the team with the best total time wins.

Racing 2 Save Lives was created to support charities that are doing the real work for kids in need: children suffering with illness, children who have been neglected or abused, and children who need loving guidance in their lives; ALL of whom need and deserve to receive care. Racing 2 Save Lives salutes those dedicated men and women who do the hands-on work to care for these children. Together we are making a difference!

R2SL supports these and other children’s charities: Family Pathways of Colorado, Make-a-Wish Foundation of Colorado, Here’s Life Inner City Denver, Larry H. Miller Charities, Roadracing World Action Fund; Wegman Fund; Missing Children Task Force; The Children's Hospital; Tooele County Children's Justice Center; The Kiwanis Baby Cupboard.

VIRginia International Raceway is a multi-purpose road racing facility, located on the Dan River between Danville and South Boston, Virginia. In addition to its 3.27-mile natural-terrain road racing circuit, VIR is the cornerstone of the VIR Club, America's first motorsports country club; the VIR Raceplex Industrial Park; Plantation Valley Kart Track, a 5/8-mile paved karting circuit; The Lodge at VIR; the VIR Paddock Suites and Garages; the new Villas at South Bend; Camp Motorsport, a motorsports-themed summer camp for young people aged 10-16; and the Oak Tree Tavern, a full-service restaurant located within the circa-1840 Plantation Clubhouse.
