Default SHARK lid experience?

Anyone use it for either street or track, and what's your overall opinion regarding fit, finish, comfort, etc. compared to other major players?

Other than it's a Duhamel helmet? LOL

To let you know, my buddy is a bigger Duhamel fan than you. He has ALL the Duhamel helmets but refused to buy the Shark one.....

I have owned three Shark helmets so far. I have crashed in them twice and my head is fine haha. But seriously they are the best fitting helmets I have used and the dealer I bought them from originally said that they are better at reducing concussions and other serious injuries because of the carbon fiber composite materials the shell is made from. Supposedly the shell deflects rather than transmitting all the force to your head.

Composite(fiberglass, c/f etc) all are made to spread the impact over the whole shell. If the force is great enough, they will deform(crush) to absorb the impact. Helmets don't 'deflect' per se. That is unless whatever is struck is of less mass than the helmet+head and at an acute enough angle. Then, if deflection occurs your head will deflect as well. There are some thermoplastic (read: CHEAP) helmets out there that actually bounce if you drop them. That would be bad if you fell, hit your head on the pavement and the helmet tried to bounce your head 3 feet back up

No worries, you'll be the first to know when that happens.
